almost — 12’45”

Influenced by French Poet Charles Baudelaire’s Les Fleurs Du mal – “The Flowers of Evil”, the self-documentary artwork almost represents one’s repressed emotions and detachment. The title, almost, highlights the feelings of, ‘almost in’ or ‘almost out’, the mental stresses of ‘being stuck’. The main character is frightened by the gaze of cold society and the temptation that intends to lead them down the wrong path. While the character is struggling to make decisions, they discover a new dystopian world. As the temptation and objurgation put stronger pressure on them, they anticipate entering further into this alternate space. The deeper this character passes through a ‘temple-like’ place, they realize the meaning of this new world: desired freedom. This realization: when one of the contradictory confrontations is not abandoned but all embraced, one gains their true form and is reborn.
